She just lights up my world...
So my obsession with Yasmin continues. She released the video for 'Light up the World' with Shy FX and Ms Dynamite and it's PERFECT. Every look in the video is amazing, the hair, clothes, make up and the feel of the video fits the song so well. Really uplifting and chilled. I want the bright bomber jacket and pink lipstick so bad. Can't believe it's took me until now to blog it, it's been out like a week! Enjoy, I know I do...x

I'm a Belieber?!
I never thought this day would come, but like me eating too much at Christmas it was inevitable....I think I have a soft spot for Justin Bieber. I just checked out his freestyle to 'Otis' because so many people have been chatting about it and....he kills it! He even wacks in a line about Saved By The Bell, which actually makes me think he didn't write it because surely he's too young to remember that?! Either way to rap like that live on air is pretty damn impressive and I like his hat. So, my love for young boys goes on...enjoy...x
P.S. The amount of swag he has these days has also convinced me that he's definatley not a virgin anymore but I don't think he's desperate enough to have slept with a fan on tour.

NAILed it.
I have a new nail obsession. First it was Chanel Rouge Noir, then Barry M crackle effect and now it's the Models Own/Wah nails nail art pen. I am thoroughly enjoying a nice bright colour as the base and then drawing some crazy pattern on the top. I need some ideas on what else I can draw on them though now! I keep visiting the Wah Nails website for inspiration, but they're all a bit hard and I would also need the pen in other colours...Models Own if you're listening that would be an excellent idea. When I am over this trend I think I'll move on to the magnetic nail polish No.7 are doing, that looks pretty amazing but I'm still hooked on this for now. Here's my leopard print and aztec designs, will post any more I come up with. Said to say bye to the heatwave, but my legs got another few days out in the sunshine before they're banished under tights for the winter, hoorah! x

Maxed out.
Serious love for maxi skirts this winter, floaty ones, heavy ones, bright ones, black ones but all teamed with my trusty leather jacket. It may even take over from tights and denim shorts as my favourite winter look, shock horror.

This is the amazing mint green American Apparell number I have spoken about and my lovely friend Lucy (in the middle) is wearing a Topshop navy blue number that crosses over and rises at the front. I will be borrowing.
I ran away to my Mom's again this weekend and got treated to a gorgeous leopard print shirt form...wait for it...New Look! This is said shirt...
Afraid I'll be teaming this with the faithful black tights and high waisted shorts and no doubt my converse.
Enjoy the errrrrr heatwave everyone :s

Added extras.
I totally lost my mind and forgot to blog two things. First and foremost Labrinth's new absolute banger of a tune 'Earthquake'. I am in love with this guy, so freakin' talented. He produces, plays, writes, sings everything. A true artist. Get listening, like NOW...
Also, shooooooooes. Rumi Neely blooged these Burberry creepers and I adore them. If only I could learn to save money and buy myself amazing treats like these or find a sugar daddy that could buy them for me, either way would be fine.

Getting on...
I've finished rehearsals with my lovely band now so have had this weekend to celebrate...any excuse! I took myself down to my Mother's to get treated to dinner then off to London for a spiffing Birthday party. Two of my school friends turned 25, EEEEK!! They hired out the upstairs of The Ten Bells pub in Shoreditch. It was a really fun night, lots of old faces there from different parts of our lives, though starting at 7.30pm was a bit of a shock as by 9pm everyone was a state. I witnessed full glasses of wine getting dropped, brilliant falling over, terrible dancing and tears....hilarious. It seemed we accidentally had a dress code too, most of us ladies had some form of high waisted maxi skirt on, how very East London of us. Don't have a picture of my outfit yet, but will blog when I do. My mint green, see through, American Appaz maxi is my purchase of the year at the mo.
Sticking with the theme of school friends, I have finally seen the photos of my friend Jazzy Fizzle's wedding day in Canada. She looked absolutley unreal, I sat sobbing at my laptop and saying 'I'm gonna frame that one, and that one, and that one, oh and that one etc' like a true Bridget Jones type saddo. Just look at her though....
Music wise this week I have been mostly listening to Delilah- Go and Kreayshawn- Gucci Gucci. Kreayshawn has been a fave of mine for a while and I'm liking that she's finally in the UK promoting, her lyrics are smart and sassy...'Gucci, Gucci, Louis, Louis, Fendi, Fendi, Prada. Basic bitches wear that shit so I don't even bother.' I love this line and would love to quote it at a few girls I know. Also, Delilah's shoes in the vid are rather wonderful.

My milkshake brings Kelis to the yard.
So, I haven't blogged in an absolute age!! I've been away on my jolly's with Mother to Marbella. Had a sweet ass time, just eating, sleeping, sunbathing and enjoying a few cheeky cocktails. Serious bonding time with my Ma was lovely and well needed. It was my Birthday while we were in Marbs and I just so happened to bump into the beautiful Kelis! She was really lovely and obliged me a picture with her. It was her Birthday the day before mine and with our names being so similar some may say it was meant to be. Unfortunatley she didn't ask me to tour with her, which was dissappointing, but there's time.
Since returning from Espana I have started rehearsals singing with a show band. We're rehearsing and recording our demo video over the next two weeks and then wait for the work to come flooding in......errrrrm hopefully. I have around 3,000,000 lyrics to learn, but instead am blogging. Ooops. I need to talk about the MOBO nominations too, so here goes. Pretty pleased with everyone that's been nominated, Jessie J, Adele and Tinie were bound to get a lot of nominations and well deserved I'd say. The Best Newcomer list is just like a list of my favourite artists at the moment, so Lord knows how I'm gonna be able to cast a vote! Here's the list if you haven't seen it...
ED SHEERAN
WRETCH 32
JESSIE J
RIZZLE KICKS
EMELI SANDE
JAMIE WOON
YASMIN
ALEX CLARE
LOICK ESSIEN
MAVERICK SABRE

I have a feeling Ed will get it, but I would love to think Jamie Woon stands a chance. Obviously my girl Yasmin looked absolutley amazing at the nominations party and the girls from Belle Amie looked pretty fly too. I spent a week in Wembley with the girls at Bootcamp last year and they're all pretty darn nice so pleased to see them doing well, but if they ever need a fourth member again, I am available. Promise I'll be better at blogging in September. Big Love.

All I see is you, stars, open arms...
Rainy Monday at home today recovering from the weekend and having a music binge. Mostly SBTRKT and a bit of old school Rui Di Silva. Perfect way to spend a day if you ask me. Why not join me?.....

Went out with the work crew on Friday night, which was partially my leaving do. Sad times. I'm leaving the bright lights of Fitness First to sing in a show band doing cruises, holiday parks, hotels etc. Should be a fun adventure, although I'm pretty sure I'll be sick to death of singing Valerie, Black Velvet and Jonny Be Good after two weeks! Start rehearsals next Monday, so will let you know how I get on.
I realise I've been rubbish with outfit posts, so here's a picture of what I wore Friday night. White Playsuit from Urban Outfitters and leopard print belt from Topshop. Also notice my beautiful Summer Love by ChloBo bracelet in coral and turqouise which you can purchase from the ChloBo website...
http://www.chlobo.co.uk/ I know a couple of the girls that work in the studio and they're lovely, hand making gorgeous jewellrey for us all. So that's my ramblings done for today. Will do a big post about the London riots in the week as there is so much to be said and still going on, in the mean time will keep praying for everyone affected. Peace Out.

I did a little gig last Wednesday, was pretty fun. Set consisted of poppy acoustic covers...I need Dollar/Buzzin', If I were a boy, What's my name/Say my name and On a mission. I wore the best trousers in the world from Topshop, what I wear for a gig totally determines if I'm gna be good or not. If I don't feel right, I won't sing as well. I know it's superficial and proper girly, but it's a fact I can't change. These are said excellent trousers...

My Obsession
So I have a really unhealthy obsession with Yasmin Shahmir. Her music, her style, her hair etc and yesterday she tweeted her latest track. Oh joy. It's a collaboration with ShyFX called 'Light Up (The World)' and it's an absolute Reggae/DnB/Jungle dream. Makes me wana pour myself a rum and coke and wack out the BBQ. Get on it...

Here's a link to her blog, you'll be as addicted to candyfloss pink as I am in no time.
My stalking also led me to find Yasmin's stylist, Soki Mak. She's also pretty awesome and has THE best accessories and hair colours. She is responsible for my love of acid brights at the moment and anything with a mad pattern.

Mixed Emotions
So, I've had a pretty crazy weekend full of friends, eating, dancing and more eating. My school reunion on Friday night was better than I ever could have imagined. It makes you realise you are the person you are today because of the years you spent with theses girls making memories together. We laughed so much at old stories and songs we wrote in lessons that my face was in serious pain by the end of the night. I sugget everyone should meet up with a person or a few people you haven't seen for a while and spend the evening remenicising, not showing off to each other about what you've done and what you've got now, but just enjoying each others company and remembering the people you were. In the words of Bob Marley it 'satifisies my soul'.
The horrible news this weekend was of course the death of Amy Winehouse and the massacre in Oslo. The death of Amy hit me harder than I thought it would. She was such a lost soul with an awesome talent and she'd had some amazing opportunities in life to get where she was and yet she spent the whole time taking substances that made her forget where she was and how lucky she'd been. It baffles me. I just hope she rests more peacefully up there than she did down here. The news from Oslo also messed me up. I cannot imagine how terrified all those kids must have been. It was like something from a film. The image of all the bodies lying on the shore and Breivik walking through them all with his gun in hand was harrowing. Kids having to pretend they were dead, hide in a freezer or escape on a boat leaving their friends behind to die by the hands of this maniac doesn't bear contemplating. My thoughts are most definatley with anyone who lost someone this weekend, through whatever means.
I leave you with Amy's appearance on Jools Holland in 2003, I saw this and fell in love. Frank was a revolutionary album and always will be.

Me and Ed.
I did a shoot for an online fashion magazine a few weeks ago and all the shots are up and running...www.stunnz.com. Here's my fave shot with the beautiful Miss Laura Coleman, she was Miss England 2008.
In other news (a lot happened today) Ed Sheeran has released his new video for 'you need me, I don't need you' and it's a blinder. Adore this guy and he used to help with Youth Music Theatre, massive kudos. Ch, ch, ch, check it out.

Panic Buying...
Panic buying may become a regular feature on my blog as it is something I do all too often. I have just bought this pretty awesome dress from motelrocks.com for a school reunion on Friday. Gonna team it with a red lip, leather jacket and wedges. Will do an outfit post at the weekend.
In the beginning...
So I have finally started my blog. It's only taken me 6 months of talking about it and a week of starting up my laptop only to get distracted by asos and you tube, but here it is. I'll mostly be writing about music, food, fashion and the weekly goings on of my life, with a shameless plug for any gigs I'm playing thrown in for good measure. Hope you enjoy. I'll leave you with four seriously talented, young, British artists as I am slightly obsessed with this song at the moment and all of their work as individuals, seems the perfect way to start my blog. Young Guns. Peace out.
